It must be acknowledged that the process by which we elect presidents has nothing to do with finding the best man in the country for the office. The two-party system, state primaries, nominating conventions, the electoral college, all have come under scrutiny and criticism, yet they have continued unaltered with all their flaws intact, as thought there were something sacred about them.
